What we do when you come in for brakes

Every brake job starts with a full inspection. We measure pad thickness, check rotor surface and thickness, look at the calipers and hardware, and test the fluid. You see the results before we touch anything.

Most of our brake jobs are pads and rotors on both front or rear axles. We use quality parts that match or beat OEM specifications, and we torque everything to spec with a calibrated wrench. Not by hand, not by feel.

If we find something beyond pads and rotors, like a stuck caliper or a worn hose, we call you first. No surprise add-ons.

How long brake service takes

Standard pad and rotor replacement on one axle runs 90 minutes to 2 hours in the shop. A full four-wheel job takes half a day. Most customers drop off in the morning and pick up by lunch.

Walk-ins are welcome. If you're hearing grinding or the pedal is sinking, do not wait. Call us and come in. Driving on metal-on-metal damages rotors fast and turns a pad job into a rotor job.

What brake service costs

Pricing depends on the vehicle, the parts, and whether rotors can be resurfaced or need replacing. We give you a written estimate before starting. No hidden shop fees, no upsells, no commission-driven recommendations.

Ask about our brake coupons on the coupons page. We usually have a promotion running for complete front or rear brake jobs.

Watch for these

Signs your brakes need service.

  • Squealing or grinding when you press the pedal
  • Pedal sinks toward the floor or feels spongy
  • Vehicle pulls to one side when braking
  • Steering wheel or pedal vibrates when braking at highway speed
  • Brake warning light on the dashboard
  • Visible wear: pads less than 3mm, scored rotors
  • Longer stopping distance than you remember
  • Burning smell after hard braking

Common questions

Before you call.

How often should brake pads be replaced?+

Most pads last 30,000 to 70,000 miles depending on driving style and vehicle. City driving wears pads faster than highway. We recommend an inspection every oil change.

Do you replace rotors every time?+

Not always. If the rotor thickness is within spec and the surface is smooth, we can resurface or reuse it. If it's warped, scored, or below minimum thickness, it needs replacing.

Can you do brakes the same day?+

Usually yes, if we have the parts in stock or can get them delivered same day. Call us in the morning and most brake jobs are done by afternoon.

Do you warranty brake work?+

Yes. We stand behind every brake job we do. Talk to us when you come in for the current warranty terms on parts and labor.

Call us and we'll get you stopping right again.
